Now that your Desktop is capable of supporting widgets, youвЂ™re ready to start relocating all of your favourite Dashboard widgets: Open the вЂњDashboardвЂќ dropdown menu and select вЂњAs overlay.вЂќ.Deselect the вЂњShow Dashboard as SpaceвЂќ item.Navigate to вЂњSystem Preferences > Mission Control.вЂќ.Select the вЂњAppleвЂќ icon in your MacвЂ™s menu bar.If youвЂ™re on one of these newer versions of macOS, then youвЂ™ll also need to setup Mission Control so that it doesnвЂ™t move the Dashboard into a Space: If youвЂ™re running macOS Mountain Lion or later, then the Dashboard is considered part of Mission Control and is treated as a Space. Next, press the вЂњEnterвЂќ key on your keyboard.

Copy/paste the following command into the Terminal window:Дefaults write devmode YES.

Navigate to вЂњApplications > UtilitiesвЂќ and launch the Terminal application.

By enabling this mode, you can place any Dashboard widget directly on your own Desktop. With this mode enabled, developers were able to place their work-in-progress widgets on their Desktop, where they could more easily test and debug them. To place widgets on the Desktop, youвЂ™ll need to enable a hidden dashboard development mode, which was originally designed to make life easier for widget developers. Widgets currently support three kinds of actions.Enable macOSвЂ™ hidden Dashboard Development Mode When you have more Actions configured than the Widget can display, the extra Actions wonвЂ™t be visible. You can choose your preferred size when you add the Widget. Widgets support a fixed number of Actions depending on their size. YouвЂ™re Widget is now configured and ready to be used.

Select the Widget you want to use and click вЂDoneвЂ™.

Right-click on the Widget and then select вЂEdit ControllerForHomeKitвЂ™.

Tap вЂDoneвЂ™ on the right side of your screen.

Choose your preferred size and tap on the Widget preview to add it.

Click on the time/date at the right end of your menubar.

Luckily, iOS allows you to stack multiple Widgets by dragging them on top of one another. Widgets are great, but they can quickly consume much space on your Home Screen.

Select the Widget you want to use and tap your Home Screen in the background.

You now get a list of all the Widgets you created in Controller for HomeKit.

Touch and hold the Widget and then select вЂEdit WidgetвЂ™.

Choose your preferred size and tap on вЂAdd WidgetвЂ™.

Select Controller from the list of widgets.

Touch and hold an empty space on your Home Screen and then select the plus that appears in the top-left corner.

Select вЂMoreвЂ™ and then вЂWidgetsвЂ™ in the main menuД«efore adding a Widget, make sure youвЂ™ve installed Controller for HomeKit and opened it at least once.

Add a Widget to your Home Screen (or Notification Center on macOS) and select the configuration.Д«efore you can use a Widget, you need to create a configuration in Controller for HomeKit.

When you want to create Controller for HomeKit Widgets, there are two things you need to do.
